GUINNESS STEW IN THE CROCK POT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Dawson Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1982.
Ingredients:
2-1/2 pounds lean stew beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 large white onion halved and sliced
1 bottle stout beer
2 cups baby carrots
1 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves
2 bay leaves
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup water
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except cornstarch and water in a crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours.
2. Combine cornstarch and water in a bowl and stir into stew.
3. Cover crock pot and allow stew to cook an additional 10 minutes until thickened slightly.
