Way back in our California days we made up this marinade recipe and it is awesome! even on bone in chicken. The secret is the overnight process!! We have always used a charcoal grill- don't know how it would taste on a gas grill. I think the charcoal adds to the flavor. Use bone in or out, with the skin or without the skin
Ingredients:
8 chicken pieces
1 (2/3 ounce) envelope good seasonings italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/8 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon mrs. dash seasoning mix (original flavor)
1/4 cup water
1 crushed garlic clove (optional)
1 crushed shallot (optional)
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredientsmarinade ingredients in a bowl into a ziploc bag.
2. marinate overnight and shake the bag and toss things around a bit during the marinating time.
3. grill until done on LOW- MED heat basting with marinade during first 5 mintues of cooking time.
4. wonderful with some rice and steamed vegies!
