When summer corn is abundant, try this easy side dish on the grill. If you have left over cobs, cut the kernels off and serve the next day with a little more butter. It only gets better. Broken down, Hefeweizen is Hefe (yeast) and Weizen (wheat)… and is an unfiltered wheat beer with yeast added . It is a pale ale with a cloudiness from the yeast particles .The wheat gives it a very crisp bright flavors and bit of fruitiness.. American brewers may add a little hops for a pleasant bitterness with a smooth clean finish. I’m sure you could use any good beer , probably preferably a wheat beer to get the same flavors.
Ingredients:
6 ears of corn , shucked
6 tbsp sweet butter , softened
1 cup of hefeweizen beer
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp chopped green onions
coarse sea salt and ground black pepper
6 sheets heavy duty aluminum foil
Directions:
1. Mix butter with beer, onions, chili powder and paprika .
2. Coat each ear of corn with the butter mixture and season with the salt and pepper.
3. Wrap in foil and grill for 15 minutes or until kernels are cooked through.
