betty and sue this tastes just like apple pie but you must eat cold uses green apples that have been frosted a southern dish
Ingredients:
2 pie crusts
4 cups green tomatoes, cut into 1/8 inch slices
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon clove
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
boiling water
Directions:
1. por boiling water over tomatoes to cover 3 minutes
2. drain
3. pour over lemon juice and vanilla
4. mix
5. mix spices salt flour corn starch
6. mix into tomatoes toss like apples
7. pour into 1 pie crust
8. dot with butter
9. top with other pie crust
10. vent
11. bake 60 minutes at 400 degrees
12. cool.
