Green Tea Ice Cream

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream


  1. Warm milk, sugar and salt.
  2. Pour cream into a large bowl and whisk in matcha.
  3. In a separate bowl whisk egg yolks together and slowly whisk in warm milk mixture.
  4. Return egg/milk to saucepan and heat stirring constantly until the mixture coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Pour into cream (you can strain the custard if you want) and whisk until frothy.
  6. Chill in refrigerator until cold and freeze according to manufactures instructions.
