Green Bean and Bleu Cheese Gratin

A different way to do green bean casserole. Rich and decadent and not to be made often. Once or twice a year, spoil yourself with this indulgent dish! (From Chef John on .)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
3 ounces blue cheese
1 pint heavy cream (no substitutes)
1/4 cup melted butter (no substitutes)
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper, to taste
Directions:
1. Pre cook beans in lightly salted water about 5 to 6 minutes.
2. While beans are cooking, mix bread crumbs and butter.
3. Drain beans in bowl lined with paper towels to absorb moisture.
4. Put about 1/3 of the crumb mixture in bottom of lightly sprayed casserole dish.
5. Add green beans, crumbled bleu cheese and heavy cream.
6. Add the rest of crumb mixture and season to taste with pepper.
7. Bake at 350 for about 15 min.until bubbly.
8. Let rest for about 5 minute before serving, as it will be extremely hot and could burn your mouth!
