This one is a little different. It is supposed to be a copycat recipe of the Texas Lunch's hot dog sauce from Central Pennsylvania. It is not even close to their sauce - but still, very tasty. Do not let the long simmer time scare you off - it is worth it.
Ingredients:
1 lb hamburger
1 small onion, chopped fine
1 pint water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground cloves
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions:
1. Brown hamburger and onion together until no longer pink. Drain.
2. Add remaining ingredients to the hamburger and onion. Cover, and simmer on low heat for 2 1/2 - 3 hours, or until water has been cooked off.
3. Serve over grilled hot dogs with mustard and chopped onions.
