This is a moist, sweet bread that is fantastic spread with apple or pumpkin butter. These directions are for a 1 lb. loaf in the bread machine. Be sure to find out if your machine require liquid or dry ingredients to go in first. Note: This recipe makes a lovely loaf when baked in the oven - in this case, use the dough cycle on the bread machine only.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups bread flour
2/3 cup granola cereal
3 tablespoons dry buttermilk
2 teaspoons vital wheat gluten
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons yeast
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
Directions:
1. Soak raisins in water for an hour before adding to the bread machine mid-cycle (when the machine beeps, in between the first and second rise).
2. Add ingredients to machine according to manufacturer directions.
3. Bake at basic one poud loaf setting.
4. When finished, remove bread from pan and cool on a wire rack.
