This is the best homemade granola recipe I've found...tweaked it a bit to suit my taste, but it's really tasty. You can add or change ingredients too! Has butter in it, but otherwise vegetarian!
Ingredients:
2 pounds rolled oats
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup crushed walnuts
2 tablespoons golden flax seed
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 cup honey
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/2 stick butter
Directions:
1. In large bowl combine all dry ingredients, except sugar.
2. Add honey.
3. In saucepot, combine sugar and water and simmer until slight carmel color.
4. Add butter using wire whisk.
5. Pour over oats.
6. Stir well.
7. Spread granola on a baking sheet and cool.
8. Store sealed or tightly covered.
