A delicious, healthy breakfast cereal. My family really likes this combination, but you can start with the oatmeal, and add or omit ingredients, or adjust the amounts as you wish. Browse the bulk store for other healthy, interesting additions! Use raw ingredients, as you will roast the granola. Serve with milk, yoghurt, dried or fresh fruit.
Ingredients:
4 cups quick oats
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup wheat bran
1 cup oat bran
1/2 cup buckwheat groats
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup whole almond
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup safflower oil
3 tablespoons ground flax seeds
3 tablespoons hemp seeds
3 tablespoons chia seeds
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F Use a 9 x 13 baking pan. Put in oats, wheat germ, brans, buckwheat, seeds, almonds, flax, and hemp. Mix gently. Sprinkle with brown sugar, and mix again. Add the vanilla to the oil and drizzle over, then mix well. Place in oven. Set your timer for 10 minutes. Take it out and mix it, especially in the corners and edges as it cooks faster there. Place in oven for another 10 minutes, and then mix again. Place in oven for another 10 minutes. (30 minutes total).
2. Remove from oven and let cool. Place in a covered container. Can be kept at room temperature for a week or 2 at least.
