Grandpas Delicious Sugar Cookies |

My grandfather used to make these every Christmas. Simple, yet oh so good! Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (soft but not melted) |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1 cup sifted flour |
1 teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon artificial vanilla flavoring |
colored sugar sprinkle |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Combine ingredients with pastry blender.
3. Shape into a ball with your hands.
4. Roll about 1/4 inch thick on floured canvas or cutting board.
5. Cut with 3 inch cookie cutter.
6. Repeat steps 3 - 5 with remaining dough.
7. Bake at 400F for about 10 minutes, depending on the size of cookies.
8. Note: cookies may be cut with fancy cookie cutters and decorated with colored sugars before baking.
