Grandma's Macaroni & Cheese

My Grandma has made this for years & years & it is one of my ALL TIME favorites. It has been passed down through our family for generations. I'm sure the original ladies didn't use 1/2 block cut off Velveeta Cheese but thats what we use in it now most of the time & it's yummy :)
Ingredients:
1 lb elbow macaroni
1/2 package cut off cheese
1 cup softened butter
2 packages crumbled saltine crackers
1/2 cup milk
Directions:
1. Cook Macaroni as indicated on package.
2. Butter cake pan, layer with 1st macaroni, then cheese, then crackers.
3. Pour half of milk over mixture.
4. Then repeat layers & top off with cheese.
5. Pour rest of milk over top of it.
6. Cook in oven on 350 degrees until browned.
