Grandma's Green Beans

My grandma used to make these for me when I was little. I can still remember sitting in the kitchen waiting and smelling the great aroma.
Ingredients:
3 lbs fresh green beans, cleaned and snapped
3 tablespoons bacon grease
1 medium onion, sliced thin
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Put Green beans in a large pot.
2. Cover with water.
3. Put Bacon Grease in the pot.
4. Separate the Onion slices stir into GreenBeans.
5. Bring to a ROLLING boil.
6. Turn down to simmer.
7. Stirring occasionally and adding water as needed.
8. Let simmer an hour.
9. Serve Hot.
