A great addition to a Holiday Buffet or Gift Basket. Mom has it on hand when we visit her on our ski trips. Something about the fireplace on a snowy Winter's day seems to make it taste even better!

1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 orange (juice and grated rind)
2 tablespoons butter (melted)
4 ounces candied cherries
1 egg (well-beaten)
1/2 cup pecans (chopped)
2 cups fresh cranberries (halved)
1/2 cup grand marnier
2 teaspoons superfine sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. lightly grease a 9X5X3 loafpan.
2. In med bowl, sift together first 5 dry ingredients. Combine orange juice and rind, butter (adding enough water to make 3/4 cup liquid) and stir in egg. Mix together with flour mixture until moist. Fold in cherries, nuts and cranberries.

4. Disolve sugar into Grand Marnier. Romove loaf from pan and pour liqid into pan. Return loaf to pan. Refrigerate overnight. Slice and serve when ready.
