Gourmet Mushroom Pate

This is an easy delicious pate to serve!
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
2 lbs mushrooms, cleaned and finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon whipping cream or 1 tablespoon half-and-half cream
Directions:
1. In a skillet melt the butter over medium heat.
2. Add mushrooms.
3. Cook until the mushrooms are well browned and the liquid has cooked down (about 35 minutes).
4. Stir in the lemon pepper.
5. thyme,cayenne& salt and remove from heat.
6. Combine egg yolks with cream.
7. Add 1/4 of the mushroom mixture to the egg yolks, stirring well.
8. Combine yolk mixture with mushrooms in the skillet.
9. Cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes.
10. Remove from heat and pour into a 3 cup container.
11. Chill& firm.
12. Serve at room temperature with crackers or slices of French bread.
