This is an incredible potato dish. So full of great flavors you won't be able to get enough.
Ingredients:
4 large baking potatoes unpeeled and thinly sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves minced
1 white onion thinly sliced
2 medium tart green apples unpeeled, cored and thinly sliced
1-1/2 teaspoons dried thyme leaves
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cups half and half
2 cups shredded gouda cheese
1/2 cup dry jack cheese finely grated
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425.
2. In a rectangular baking dish arrange 1/2 the potatoes then season with salt and pepper.
3. Sprinkle on garlic.
4. Top with onion and apple then season with thyme and nutmeg.
5. Arrange remaining potatoes on top and pour on half and half.
6. Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes.
7. Remove foil and top with Gouda and sprinkle with dry jack cheese.
8. Return to oven and bake uncovered 20 additional minutes.
