Granola makes a wonderful after-school snack - with or without milk or yogurt! This recipe contains oats, walnuts, coconut, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, sesame seeds, banana chips and raisins. It's a kid friendly conbination but Moms and Dads will enjoy it too.
Ingredients:
2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups slivered almonds or 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup wheat germ
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (300 g) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (regular)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup banana chips (optional)
1 cup raisins
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300°F In large bowl, combine oats, almonds, coconut, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, sesame seeds, cinnamon and salt. Pour in sweetened condensed milk and oil. Mix to combine.
2. Spread evenly in aluminum foiled lined 15x10-inch jellyroll pan or baking sheet.
3. Bake 50-55 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven; stir in banana chips (optional) and raisins.
4. Cool completely. Store leftovers lightly covered at room temperature.
