Ingredients:
11 cups thinly sliced peeled golden delicious apples (about 12 medium)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
almond oat topping:
1 cup king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup cold butter
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. Pour into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.
2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, oats and sugars. Cut in butter until crumbly; stir in almonds. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.
3. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 40-50 minutes or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Yield: 12 servings.
