Gingery-Orangey Carrot Squares (Vegan)

This recipe is an adaptation of Vegan Carrot Cake by user Lt. Amy for a carrot cake, but doing half of the ingredients and with the addition of ginger and orange juice resulted in brownie-like squares of complete deliciousness! Hope you enjoy the experiment as much as I did.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon coriander
1 orange, zest of
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots (not too fine)
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 orange, juice of
Directions:
1. 1. Mix the dry ingredients.
2. 2. Add the carrots, vanilla and the oil, in that order.
3. 3. Add the orange juice.
4. 4. Place mix in greased 10 inch square tray, even out and bake for 60 minutes at 180C or 350°F It won't rise but it'll be done when you insert a knife and it comes out clean.
