Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup molasses
1/2 cup buttermilk
Directions:
1. Combine the flour, spices, and the baking soda in one bowl. Set aside.
2. Cream butter and sugar. Stir in egg. Add molasses and buttermilk/water. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet until just smooth.
3. Bake at 350ยบ F for 45 minutes if you use an 8-inch loaf pan or for 25 minutes if you use an 8x8 square pan.
