Ginger-Whole Wheat Waffles

Crystallized ginger and honey offer spicy-sweet flavor. Top these warm waffles with our syrup or your favorite bottled brand.
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pancake-and-waffle mix
1/3 cup chopped crystallized ginger
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup whole milk
4 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons olive or canola oil
1 large egg
strawberry-maple syrup
Directions:
1. Stir together first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl. Add milk and next 3 ingredients, stirring until smooth. Let stand 5 minutes.
2. Cook batter in a preheated, lightly greased waffle iron until crisp and brown. Serve immediately with Strawberry-Maple Syrup.
3. Note: We tested with Aunt Jemima Whole Wheat Blend Pancake & Waffle mix.
4. Note: Nutritional analysis includes about 2 3/4 Tbsp. syrup.
