Ginger Meatballs

A friend gave me this recipe and I have been making these every weekend for years.
Ingredients:
1 lb hamburger meat
1 ginger (peeled and finely chopped)
1 onion (finely chopped)
1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste
Directions:
1. Mix together the hamburger meat, ginger, onion and corriander.
2. Make into balls.
3. Bring to a boil 2 cups of olive oil and 2 cups of water.
4. Add balls to the boiling water/oil.
5. Reduce heat to simmer.
6. Cook balls for about 3 hours or until liquid is almost absorbed by the balls.
7. Add can of tomato paste and mix in with remaining liquid.
8. Serve with rice.
