Ginger Martini with Sake

Ingredients:
1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
2 tablespoons simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water heated until sugar is dissolved, cool)
vodka, very cold
sake, very cold
crushed ice
paper thin cucumber slices, for garnish
Directions:
1. Muddle the ginger and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add the vodka, sake, and crushed ice, to taste, and shake to combine. Strain into a chilled martini glass and serve.
