Ingredients:
1 cup shortening (lard and butter mixture)
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup molasses
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda (disolved in the boiling water below)
1 tablespoon boiling water
1 teaspoon ginger
1 pinch salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. Cream together the shortening and sugar.
3. Beat in the eggs.
4. Add the molasses and baking soda water.
5. Sift together the flour and ginger.
6. Combine the other ingredients and mix well.
7. Pour into greased muffin tins and bake for 20 minutes or until done.
