German Cherry Cobbler

This this old fashioned recipe warm or room temp with some whipped cream or ice cream
Ingredients:
120 g butter
300 ml milk
200 g sugar
200 g flour
1 packet baking powder ( 2 tsp )
1/2 ts salt
1 glass of cherries with juice ( 6 to 8 oz )
Directions:
1. Place butter in casserole and heat at 200C to melt butter
2. Mix the milk, sugar, baking powder and salt and blend into a smooth dough
3. Take out the hot casserole and pour dough into dish
4. Add the cherries with juice but do not stir
5. Bake about 50 minutes
6. Serve warm
7. This may be made with fresh apricots or plums or with other canned fruit
