This is sooooo good, especially if you have a cold!! Its a real comfort food. Anytime anyone in the family is sick, they are making garlic soup!
Ingredients:
2 small onions, chopped
3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 cup butter
6 tablespoons flour
6 cups chicken broth or 6 cups vegetable broth
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Directions:
1. Saute onions and garlic in butter for about 3 minutes.
2. Stir in flour until well blended.
3. Gradually add broth and bring to a boil.
4. Cook and stir about 2 minutes, until thickened.
5. Reduce heat, simmer for 15 minutes.
6. Add cayenne.
7. You can also add cooked rice to this soup for a different version.
