I have seen many pita chip recipes here so I don't feel so bad about calling this a recipe. I think butter gives them a better flavor than olive oil and it helps keep the seasoning stuck on better. But I promise that you'll never buy pita chips again and I'm sure you'll put these out for parties. cooking time counts for only having two sheet pans and having to do four batches.
Ingredients:
2 (14 ounce) bags pita bread
1/2 cup butter (melted)
1 teaspoon granulated garlic (not powder or salt)
1 tablespoon kosher salt
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 400°F
2. Cut the pit round in half, then into strips.
3. Mix granulated garlic and hot melted butter together.
4. Place pita strips on a parchment lined sheet pan.
5. Brush pita strips with garlic butter.
6. Sprinkle kosher salt evenly across pita strips.
7. Bake pita strips for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
8. Cool completely on a paper towel before baggin for storage.
