This is a wonderful way to add some flavor to mashed potatoes. These always get raves!
Ingredients:
potatoes peeled and cubed (usually 1 1/2 potato per person)
water to cover plus 1
bouillon cubes or powder (1 tablespoon for every 2 quarts of water)
1 whole garlic clove for every 2 potatoes
butter
milk
Directions:
1. Cube potatoes for boiling and cover with water + 1”. Add bouillon and garlic cloves to the water and heat to boiling. This way the bouillon and garlic flavor permeates through the potatoes.
2. When the potatoes can easily break in pieces with a fork (approx 20 minutes), drain the potatoes/garlic and put into a large pot. Add 1 tbsp butter for each 2 potatoes that you originally cooked. Add 1/4 – 1/2 cup milk, depending on how large a batch. Mash potatoes with garlic, butter, and milk until desired creaminess.
3. These mashed potatoes have SO much flavor and are wonderfully easy to make.
