  1. Season steaks with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon butter and oil over medium-high heat. Cook steaks for 5-8 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°). Remove and keep warm.
  2. In the same skillet, saute onion and garlic in remaining butter for 1 minute. Add wine or broth; cook and stir for 1 minute. Stir in parsley and browning sauce if desired. Drizzle over beef. Yield: 6 servings.
