Fudge Pecan Pie

Ingredients:
9 inches unbaked pie shells
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
1/3 cup cocoa
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
1 cup pecan halves
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375°F
2. Melt butter over low heat; add cocoa and stir until smooth.
3. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
4. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs and corn syrup.
5. Blend thoroughly.
6. Stir in chopped nuts, if desired.
7. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
8. Place pecan halves over top.
9. Bake for 40 minutes.
10. Cool.
11. Let stand 8 hours before serving.
12. Garnish with sweetened whipped whipping cream or whipped topping.
