The best thing about this recipe is that you're not limited in your choices of fruit. Essential in a family with many allergies, like mine.
Ingredients:
4 cups sliced fresh peaches, nectarines, plums, and/or apricots
1 to 2 cups assorted fresh berries, such as halved strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and/or raspberries
1 to 2 cups 1-inch chunks honeydew melon or cantaloupe, maybe even watermelon
1 to 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (or use lime)
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
3 or 4 cantaloupes, halved, with meat and seeds removed (bowls for serving, if you wish)
Directions:
1. Refrigerate a large glass serving bowl for 20 - 30 minutes.
2. Add desired fruit to bowl.
3. Toss gently until fruits are just mixed.
4. Sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar to taste.
5. Toss gently until sugar is dissolved.
6. Serve in cantaloupe bowls if desired.
