Fruit Cocktail Cake

This cake was always present at church socials, and 'coffee and cake' visits. Easy, and tasty.
Ingredients:
cake
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 #2 can fruit cocktail
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
2 eggs
first topping
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut
second topping
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. coconut
boiled topping
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
boil together for 10 minutes.
Directions:
1. Mix all cake ingredients together, sprinkle with first topping, and bake in a 9x13 pan at 300 degrees for an hour.
2. Remove from oven, and sprinkle with combined pecans and coconut. Pour boiled topping over entire cake.
