This fruit salad is great in the summer. It's adding a little kick to traditional fruit salad. I think it's the mint, triple sec and honey.
Ingredients:
1 papaya or mango
1 cup strawberries
2 kiwis
1 banana
2 oranges
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon triple sec, optional (if you have it around the house or don't mind spending the money, you could use grand marnier)
3 to 5 sprigs fresh mint
1 cup raspberries, blackberries, cherries or blueberries
Directions:
1. Peel and dice the mango or papaya, and put in a medium bowl.
2. Trim the strawberries' stems and half or quarter, if large. Add to the bowl of fruit.
3. Peel and dice the kiwi, add to bowl.
4. Peel and slice the bananas, add to bowl.
5. Peel and slice the oranges, add to bowl. If you can get the segments separated without having to cut into them (a la Mandarin Oranges), that looks really pretty. But I am usually in too much of a hurry to fuss, so the oranges don't look as pretty as they could!
6. Squeeze any orange juice over the fruit in the bowl.
7. Lightly stir the honey and Triple Sec, if using, into the fruit.
8. Strip the mint leaves off the stem, tear, or chop into smaller pieces, and stir into the fruit salad.
9. Add the berries and set aside for 10 minutes or up to 2 hours.
10. Serve and enjoy!
