Frosty Mandarin Dessert

This came from The New Joys Of Jell-O. I have not tried this, just posting for safe keeping.
Ingredients:
11 ounces mandarin orange sections
6 ounces orange jello gelatin (2 packages)
2 cups boiling water
1 pint orange sherbet
Directions:
1. Drain orange, measuring syrup. Add water to syrup to make 1 cup. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add measured liquid. Add sherbet by spoonfuls, stirring until melted. Chill until thickened.
2. Fold in oranges, reserving a few for garnish. Pour into a serving bowl or individual serving dishes. Chill until set-at least 1 hour. Garnish with reserved mandarin orange sections and mint leaves, if desired.
