Frosted Maple Pecan White Chip Cookies

Sweet chocolate and nut flavors make this cookie a real treat for snacks or dessert!
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon maple flavoring or maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (12-ounce) package white chocolate morsels or chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup pecan halves, about 60
maple frosting
4 cups powdered or confectioner's sugar
4 tablespoons or more milk
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon maple flavoring or syrup
Directions:
1. Combine flour and baking soda in a medium bowl.
2. Beat brown sugar, vegetable shortening, butter, eggs, maple flavoring and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until creamy.
3. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
4. Stir in morsels and chopped pecans.
5. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
6. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 9 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown.
7. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
8. Spread with Maple Frosting; top each cookie with pecan half.

11. Combine powdered sugar, milk, butter and maple flavoring (or syrup) in a medium bowl; stir until smooth.
12. Makes 60 cookies.
