Richard Gay, owner of Gay Fish Company of St. It does not contain frogs. It was named after the little town where Gay lived. Then, the post office cancelled service to Frogmore and just rolled it into Beaufort. Read more . Some people now call the the dish Beaufort Stew or Low Country Boil, but the die hards will always call it Frogmore Stew. Many basic versions of the recipe which one can enjoy anytime of the year .
Ingredients:
2 medium onions quartered
4 garlic cloves smashed
1/2 cup seafood seasoning ( yes correct amount ) such as old bay seasoning
2 lbs kilelba cut into 16 pieces ( use 2 rings and cut each into 8 pieces )
2 lbs small red potaotes
8 ears of corn halfed ( you will have 16 pieces )
2 lbs ( 21 or 25 count ) of shrimp
lemon wedges and melted butter
Directions:
1. Pour in 3 quarts of water Into one very large kettle ( like a lobster pot ) on stove top add onions garlic, seasoning and salt to taste, add sqeezed lemon juice from lemons and throw in the lemon wedges.
2. Bring to a boil and add potatoes and kielbasa.
3. Return to a boil, partially cover with lid.
4. Reduce haet and simmer about 20 minutes.
5. Add corn, increase heat to medium high and cook covered until corn is tender.
6. Stir in shrimp, turn off heat and let shrimp cook about 2 minutes.

8. remove with slotted spoon- drain well , the shrimp, . sausage, veggies and place on platters and drizzle with melted butter and serve with fresh lemon wedges on the side
