Mix of different asian flavor that bursts into your mouth when you bite into this meaty and crunchy wontons.The addition of water chestnuts add a crunch to every bite.
Ingredients:
1 cup ground pork
1 cup ground beef
1 cup chopped smoked ham
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 cup chopped water chestnuts
1/2 cup chopped shitake mushrooms
1 tbspn minced garlic
2 tbspns soy sauce
1 tbspn mirin
2 tsp grated ginger
1 pack wonton wrapper
1 egg beaten
vegetable oil for deep frying
for the dip
1/4 cup soysauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 tbspn brown sugar
2 tbspn slivered ginger
Directions:
1. In a large bowl,combine ground pork, beef, ham, green onions, water chestnuts, mushrooms, garlic, soy sauce, mirin, and ginger. Mix thoroughly, set aside.
2. Arrange wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Brush edges of wrappers with egg. Spoon meat filling into the center of each wrapper. Flatten gently and bring two opposite corners of each wrapper together over filling to form a triangle or gather edges to form a pouch. Press edges to seal.
3. In a deep fryer, heat oil and fry wontons about two minutes or until golden in color, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels.
4. Keep warm and serve with dip on the side.
