FRIED GREEN ONIONS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the McBride Estate in Austin, Texas in 1994.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup water
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
20 green onions cut into 5” lengths
vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt then stir well.
2. Gradually add water to flour mixture stirring until smooth.
3. Stir in sesame seeds then dip onions in batter and fry in deep oil heated to 375.
4. Fry until golden turning once then drain well on paper towels and serve warm.
