Fried Artichoke Fritters

Delicious fritter easily made with canned artichokes
Ingredients:
2, 8 1/2 oz oz cans of artichoke hearts in water
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dalt
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup grated romano cheese
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/4 cup whole milk
1 egg, fork beaten
oil to fry
Directions:
1. Drain artichokes hearts and pat dry.
2. Cut in fourths
3. Combine dry ingredients.
4. Combine wet ingredients
5. In a large bowl combine both mixtures and stir till smooth.
6. Gently place artichokes in bater and mix well by hand.
7. Heat an inch or two of oil in a heavy duty skillet to medium high.
8. Pour 3/4 cup of the mixture and fry till golden.
9. Drain on paper toweling.
10. Sprinkle with coarse salt if desired
