FRIED APPLES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Amine Estate in Texarkana, Texas in 1990.
Ingredients:
6 large apples sliced
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Core peel and slice apples into thick slices.
2. Place in medium skillet with butter and water.
3. Cook over medium heat stirring to prevent sticking.
4. Continue cooking until barely tender.
5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together.
6. Sprinkle apples with brown sugar and lemon juice.
7. Toss and cover skillet then let stand for 10 minutes.
