Fresh Cherries Jubilee Sauce

Simple yet classic, a wonderful sauce over ice cream, angel food cake, etc. If you wish, you may ignite the brandy over the sauce for a treat they'll remember!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup orange juice
3 cups sweet fresh cherries, pitted
1/2 teaspoon orange rind
1/4 cup brandy (optional)
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in med saucepan.
2. Add water and orange juice; blend well.
3. Cook and stir until smooth and thickened.
4. Add cherries and orange peel; bring to boil and simmer 10 minute.
5. Gently heat brandy in separate pan, pour over sauce and ignite, if desired.
6. Serve over ice cream.
