French Toast Sandwiches

love these for breakfast or lunch during the holiday season or whenever I have eggnog.
Ingredients:
12 slices canadian bacon
6 slices monterey jack cheese
12 slices french bread (1/2-inch thick)
3/4 cup eggnog
3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
6 tablespoons strawberry preserves
Directions:
1. Place two slices of Canadian bacon and one slice of cheese on each of the six slices of bread.
2. Top with remaining bread.
3. Place eggnog in a shallow dish.
4. Dip sandwiches in eggnog.
5. In a large skillet or griddle, melt butter.
6. Cook sandwiches on both sides for 2-3 minutes or until bread is golden brown.
7. Serve with strawberry preserves.
