Directions:

  1. Cut loaf of French bread lengthwise in halves. Spread with butter. Place in oven to heat through (do not broil, yet)
  2. Mix all remaining ingredients except paprika; spread mixture on hot bread; dust with paprika.
  3. Broil slowly until delicately browned.
  4. Cut crosswise and serve
