Simple and straight-forward, this looks like a tasty side dish. May sub the chicken broth with vegetable broth, to make vegetarian-friendly.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon sesame oil
3/4 cup carrot, diced
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon chinese five spice powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/4 cups long-grain rice, uncooked
Directions:
1. Heat oil in pan and add onion, carrot, and garlic; sauté until tender.
2. Add broth, Chinese five-spice, salt and pepper, bring to a boil.
3. Stir in rice and return to boil.
4. Cover; reduce heat and cook 20 minutes.
