This mix combines in a jiffy and doesn't require any baking but the combination of ingredients makes for a complete and tasty snack mix for a road trip, hike, or a day at the lake!
Ingredients:
1lb jerky(beef, venison, turkey, whatever.... store bought or homemade), torn into bite sized pieces
about 12oz bag mini pretzel twists
8-10oz roasted, salted nuts
1-1 1/2 cups dried berry blend
1/4 cup olive oil
1t dijon
1t dry mustard
1/2-1t cayenne
1t dried dill weed
couple turns of fresh ground black pepper
Directions:
1. Combine jerky, pretzels, nuts, and berries in X-large zipper bag, seal, and toss well to combine.
2. In small glass bowl, whisk together oil, mustards, dill and peppers.
3. Pour over mix in bag, seal WELL(put it in another zipper bag so it's double bagged, if you fear for the strength of the zipper!) then toss the bejusus out of it until it's well coated. This mix should be lightly coated, but still nearly dry to the touch.
4. Transfer to smaller zipper bags or air tight containers, to store.
5. **this would be great with mini cheese flavored crackers, too, but I didn't have any. :) Feel free to play with the types of snacks you use, just keep it around 12 cups.
