This recipe from an old magazine was created to help firefighters to lower their cholesterol. It's quick, simple and tasty - perfect fuel for putting out whatever kind of fire you're fighting.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup skim milk or 1/2 cup vanilla-flavored soymilk
1/3 ounce almonds
1/3 ounce walnuts
1/3 ounce pistachios
1/8 cup dried cherries
1/8 cup dried cranberries
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients and eat immediately.
2. OPTIONAL: Mix several servings of dry ingredients, cover and use within 1-2 weeks. When ready to eat, add honey and milk to amt of serving of dry ingredients then serve.
