This is a crunchy top tart, figs and blueberries match perfectly with hazelnuts. Almost any fresh or preserved fruit would be perfect: peaches, pears, lychees or even tangerines. I made it 1 month ago and put it in the freezer. Read more . I thawed it today and was absolutely perfect ¡¡
Ingredients:
1 pie crust, unbaked
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, unthawed
8 green or black fresh or preserved figs
1 cup quick-cooking or traditional oats
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 cup toasted and finely chopped hazelnuts
Directions:
1. Prick bottom of pie crust, cover with foil and bake at 375ºF for 10 minutes. Discard foil and set aside.
2. Arrange blueberries on top of the pie crust. Place halved figs over the blueberries.
3. In a medium bowl mix the rest of the ingredients, except hazelnuts. Mix well and spread over the fruit in crust.
4. Finish with chopped hazelnuts.
5. Bake at 375ºF for 20 minutes or until top is nicely brown. Cover edges with foil if they brown too much.
