Fideos - Sopa Seca De Fideos

Ingredients:
1 5 oz. box fideos (or vermicelli)
2 tbsp. oil
to taste salt
to taste black pepper
6-8 shakes powdered comino (cumin)
1/2 cup chopped onion (or equiv. instant minced onion)
2-3 cup water
1/2 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 to 2 tsp. chili powder (optional, recommended)
Directions:
1. - Break vermicelli into pieces and add to oil in hot skillet.
2. - Stir-fry pasta until some of the pasta begins to turn a VERY LIGHT brown.
3. - Add tomato sauce and spices and bring to a boil.
4. - Reduce heat and SIMMER, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until cooked down to about the consistency of Franco-American Spaghetti , or slightly drier.
5. ******** Serving Suggestions ********
6. Serve with Ham-Hock and Beans, Carne Guisada, Barbecoa, or other sopa spooned over top.
7. Can also be used as a side dish to other entrees, such as tamales, tortillas, or any other menu where Spanish Rice would be used.
