Fettuccine Alfredo With Chicken And Mushrooms

Invite a cardiologist to eat this with you. Have brioschi (Italian Alka Seltzer) on hand and good bottle of Pino Grigio.
Ingredients:
6 t. butter
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 pinches ground nutmeg
1 tsp. black pepper
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 pinch salt
1-1/2 lb. chicken breast, diced
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
1 lb. fettuccine pasta
6 oz. brocolli florets par boiled (optional)
Directions:
1. Boil chicken until done.
2. Dice. Saute chicken and mushrooms in 3 T. butter. Cook pasta, drain and rinse and set aside.
3. Set a frying pan to medium high heat. Add 3 T. butter and cream to pan. Mix well. Stir sauce frequently and add pepper, salt and nutmeg.
4. Boil and stir frequently until sauce becomes heavier. Reduce heat. Add chicken and mushrooms (brocolli florets) to sauce. Then add pasta to sauce.
5. Add cheese to sauce and pasta. Mix til sauce absorbs the cheese.
6. Serve
