1/4 cup butter, softened |
1 (18 ounce) box chocolate fudge cake mix |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
2 tablespoons water |
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts |
48 chocolate star candies |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Cut butter into cake mix in a large bowl until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 3. Stir in egg and water until well blended. 4. Shape dough into 1/2 inch balls; roll in walnuts, pressing nuts gently into dough. 5. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. 6. Bake for 12 minutes or until puffed and nearly set. 7. Place chocolate star in center of each cookie; bake 1 minute more. |
